I am a news junkie, always have been, and, I assumed, always would be.
Typical daily beginning.
7.15 AM ...in bed,
...alarm, BBC Radio 4 Today programme automatically kicks in, the benchmark of British current affairs broadcasting.
07.16, grab Blackberry, check Twitter, specifically Asian markets and anything major that has broken since I last checked circa 0200, five hours and sixteen minutes previously.
0730 out of bed, engage Radio 4 on PC at volume sufficient to carry through 90% of house in order to ensure total knowledge overload.
0731 Engage radio app on Blackberry to ensure seamless coverage in bathroom, the marginalised 10%, for the duration of seven minute shower and ablution process.
0738 Re enter BBC Radio 4 whole house immersion zone. Check Twitter. Check emails on PC....while I am there, why not check Sky.com to have a browse of the days newspaper front pages before I move on.
0745 Complete downloading podcasts from BBC, WSJ and Bloomberg to cover the journey in to work.
0800 Kiss family goodbye, jump on the bike and head for work.
...at a newspaper.
